THE PRODUCTS OF FUTURE

All began in the mid-forties 1944, when Mr. Rohr in the village of Staufen (RoSta) was commissioned to develop a simple and economic solution to support axles of truck trailers.

The three main functions, to support, to dampen and to suspend lead to the ROSTA rubber spring element.

Today, ROSTA AG exports over 90% of its products. With six subsidiaries and over 35 distribution partners worldwide, there is certainly one in your region. With a clear grow strategy, ROSTA is expanding on all levels.

The three-business division ROSTA comprise Rubber Suspension-, Oscillating- and Tensioning-Technology.

A wide range of standard elements of Rubber Suspension Elements are used for anti-vibration mounts and elastic torsion mounts. These are used in multiple industries for springing, damping and supporting.

Our Oscillating Elements cover all possible industrial application. Mainly used in the conveyor technology. They are an integrational part of any screen, sifter, conveyor trough and discharge feeder.

The original ROSTA Tensioners are renowned for their durability in any environment. The concept and production of machine components for the maintenance-free tensioning of belts and chain drives has always been a core competence of ROSTA.

KOOKA, Your Runway Toward Success

Technology

The ROSTA elements comprises multiple functions in a compact design.

It works as:

  1.  a torsional spring

  2.  a pivot bearing

  3.  an anti-vibration mount!

With an operating angle of  /-30 degrees with a variety of torques and sizes it serves in countless applications.

Advantages and Benefits:

  • Less components to mount

  • Faster assembly and less stocking items

  • Cost advantage

  • Maintenance free

  • No production down time for maintenance

  • High productivity of your production line

  •

For 75 years the first choice - make use of our experience.

Active and Passive Isolation

Active or direct isolation  means the direct ab- sorption of oscillations, vibrations and shocks of a running machine by anti-vibration mounts, i. e. to prevent directly the transfer of the numerous machine vibrations into the sub- structure, basis frame and entire building. For the anti-vibra- tion mount selection the knowledge of the interfering fre- quency (disturbance frequency), the stiffness of the machine structure and its gravity center as well as of the specific machine location in the building is required. Active isolations are usually overcritical machine installations on anti-vibration mounts (e. g. on ROSTA ESL mounts).

Passive or protective isolation  means to in- stall a protective barrier between all kind of existing vibra- tions and shocks occurring in a factory or workshop towards sensitive installations like e. g. weighing and measuring in- struments, laboratory equipment or electronic control units. The vibration technological situations usually vary in each case and are related to environmental situations, too. Often shocks and impacts come from outside, e. g. from motor- ways, railways, building sites or tooling machines, like punching presses, etc. Generally, the sensitive equipments shall be protected by installing them on rather “soft” anti-vi- bration mounts, e. g. ROSTA ESL or AB-D mounts absorbing most of these environmental impacts. It is frequently recom- mendable to consult also an engineering company having the tools and instruments to analyse the specific vibration appearances.

Chain Tensioner

HOW IS PROPER CHAIN TENSION MEASURED AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

Proper chain tension is critical to achieving acceptable service life, as excessive tension can cause accelerated wear or chain overload and excessive slack can cause rough chain operation and possibly result in the chain skipping a sprocket tooth, resulting in a catastrophic failure.

For the majority of slow- and medium-speed drives, the total mid-span movement in the slack span of the chain should be approximately 4-6% of the drive’s center distance. For drives operating at high speeds, impulse, or reversing loads, the total mid-span movement should be reduced to 2% of the center distance. Drives with vertical centers should also be adjusted to the smaller percentage. If the drive is designed to incorporate shaft adjustment or an idler, the amount of movement or “take-up” should always allow for the removal of two pitches of chain. P.S. Chain's brands varies, please refer to manufacturer's specifications and set its tension accordingly.
